The popular series, which has been on the air since 2007, is on the look out for North East stars for its new series on Sky One

Popular BBC Three programme ‘Don’t Tell the Bride’ is looking for Geordie couples to tie the knot for TV and let the groom organise it all!

The show, which sees the groom take over the planning of the wedding with just three weeks to go until the big day, is moving to Sky One as it’s usual home, BBC Three makes the move to becoming an online-only channel.

Brides-to-be will need nerves of steel as they’re asked to hand over the reigns to their future husbands who will be in charge of planning every last detail – including venue, hen do and even the dress.

The show has previously shown a number of eventful weddings, including a zombie-themed bash and another held in a theme park.

Other memorable ones include one where the bride had to perform a sky dive before walking down the aisle and more recently, a marriage in the sea with the bride and groom both on water skis.

However, the most catastrophic example nearly saw one couple call the wedding off, after an unsuspecting bride was sent all the way to Las Vegas to be wed, without most of her friends and family.

A number of North East couples have starred on the show over the past few years, including Charlie and Lauren who had some out of this world nuptials with a sci-fi themed wedding at Newcastle’s Discovery Museum .

Adam MacDonald, director of Sky 1, said: “Charting wedding dramas for nigh on a decade, Don’t Tell the Bride is best in class family-friendly entertainment and a British TV institution to boot!

“Many of our customers are already huge fans of the show so we’re delighted to be giving the brand-new series a home on Sky 1.”

Anyone hoping to apply for the show can do so online at Renegade Picture’s website .

Mia Sposa Bridal have had experience of doing this program which aired on October 15 and filmed earlier in the year, where a small film crew came in to the shop. It was a great experience.
